1998 Eurovision winning Diva Dana International (דנה אינטרנשיונל) is back on the Eurovision stage with the self penned song Ding Dong (דינג דונג). The song is in Hebrew with some parts in English.

You can listen to the original and new Eurovision version of Ding Dong at the Dana International ESC Youtube channel.
Two official remixes have been made by the Vooz Brothers. You can listen to both at Dana's YouTube channel or you can listen at Soundcloud.

A white label DJ 12" inch has been made, but I have no clue about its autenthicity.
An early promo cdsingle offered with 1 track on various auction sites has the K'dam version and is, according to the record company, not an official release.
The planned cdsingle with remixes hasn't materialized.

Diva 1998

Dana International won the 1998 Eurovision song contest in Birmingham with Diva. The much talked about singer scored a decent European hit with the song, especially considering that a Eurovision hit was a rarity in the pre-digital download 90's.

Rusinka by Vlatko Ilievski is the Macedonian entry for Düsseldorf.
You can download the song here at MMM, where you can also find most of the other preselection songs.

It's a good Eurovision tradition to record your song in several languages. Go Vlatko! Next to the original Macedonian version he has recorded several different language versions of his entry.

MKRTV have made a promo set with a cd and dvd with 7 versions of the Macedonian entry.

In 2010 Vlatko Ilievski already ended 2nd in the Macedonian national final with Sreka (Среќа), but his first Eurovision appearance dates back to 2005 when he was a backing singer for Martin Vukic.

MKRTV have issued a promo CD Скопје 2011 with all the entries of the Macedonian 2011 selection.
A second CD includes all winners of the Skopje festival from 1994 to 2010 including all Macedonian Eurovision entries.

Latvia - Angel In Disguise - Musiqq

Latvia has chosen Musiqq with Angel In Disguise, written by band member Marats Ogļezņevs, for the Düsseldorf contest.

Musiqq have now launched their new website. It features a music pleyer with Musiqqs greatest hits, bio and video section.

The duo teamed up in 2009 and soon their first single Klimata Kontrole (Climate Control) was a fact.
Second single Abrakadabra was the bands breakthrough hit, being a top 10 selling digital single of the year and earning a Latvian Music Award nomination for best song.

Debut album Šī Ir Tikai Mūzika (This Is Just Music) was released after signing to Micrec and it included their previous singles as well as follow up hits No 10-10 (10 out of 10) and Dzimšanas Diena (Birthday).
Currently the band are #1 in the Latvian charts with Dzīve Izdodas  (Succeed in life).

Cyprus - Christos Mylordos - San Angelos S' Agapisa

Christos Mylordos (Χρίστος Μυλόρδος), winner of the Performance 2010 talent show will reperesent Cyprus in the Düsseldorf Eurovision.

The song San Angelos S'agapisa (Σαν Άγγελος Σ'αγάπησα) is written by Andreas Anastasiou and Michalis Antoniou.

A 1-track cdsingle is issued by CyBC to promote the Cyprus entry.

Netherlands - Never Alone - 3JS

The Tros had announced early on that 3JS would represent the Netherlands in the 2011 contest.

In the 5-song national final the song Je Vecht Nooit Alleen (Never fight alone) was selected. The Eurovision song (and the other pre-songs) are written by the 3Js themselves.

Je Vecht Nooit Alleen is released on a cdsingle which also includes two coverversions. One of Jeff Buckley's Satisfied Mind and one of Something Fine (Jackson Browne).

The cdsingle is out now.

The English version of the song is titled Never Alone, and it's this version that was performed at the contest. It has a slightly different arrangement to the original Dutch version.
This has also been released as a cdsingle with the karaoke and video inluded

A promo DVD was issued with footage of the 3Js adventures on the road to Eurovision.

A cd-rom with the English version and English version videoclip was made for Düsseldorf promotion.
It also includes photos, biographies and lyrics.

Je Vecht Nooit Alleen debuts in the Dutch sales top 100 at #5, going on to #1 in the 2nd week.
Never Alone enters the Dutch charts at #1*, just like the original Dutch version did a few weeks before.

Eldar and Nigar a.k.a.  Ell and Nikki have won the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest with Running Scared written by Stefan Örn, Sandra Bjurman and Iain Farquharsondur.

Raphael Gualazzi finished 2nd for Italy with Madness Of Love and Sweden took 3rd place with Eric Saades Popular.

The Handbook For Düsseldorf

OGAE internation have issued the 2011edition of the Eurovision handbook.

Like every year the handy a5 size book includes all the relevant info on this years artists and songs.

The 136 page glossy extravaganza includes biographies, song info, pictures and details on the national finals.

Let's Get Physical: Who's in the shops?

With the changing face of the record industry it's more and more a challenge for collectors (like you and me) to get their hands on the physical releases of their favorite Eurovision entries.

In the olden days singles and cdsingles were often released internationally and with a swapping network it was always possible to get the collection going.

Digital releases are great, they can propel your favorite entries into the charts straight away, but it just isn't the same as the cherished shiny disc with some extra versions in an appetising sleeve.

The promo only limited editions will pop up soon enough, and The Düsseldorf Collection will try to get a complete view of what's out there soon.

Who's single is in the shops?.

But first here are the ones that should be applauded. These entries have their cdsingles in the local shops (so far).
Netherlands have two cdsingles. An early one with the Dutch version and the 2nd cdsingle with the English version which has just been released.
Austria: Nadine's cdsingle is out in Austria.
Switzerland: In Love For A While is out on a 3-track cdsingle which also includes the video.
Germany: The host country's entry cdsingle was released just days after it was selected. Gorgeous picture sleeve and all.

Ireland has been a promo only country off and on the past few years, but the Jedward boys are proudly lining the racks in the Irish shops again with their top 3 single Lipstick.
Sweden never disappoints although the 1-track affair of the last few years is a bit meagre. We want mixes and stuff on it!
Belgium: The Acapella entry cds is in the Belgian shops with two versions.
Finland: A 1 track cdsingle is now out on Warner Finland.
Turkey: The Turkish commercial cdsingle release has 5 versions of the Eurovision song.
France: 3 tracks on the cdsingle of Amaury Vassili
U.K.: The UK entry is available on cdsingle before the contest this year.
Slovakia: CDsingle out now in Slovakia and the Czech republic.
Portugal: It seems the 1-track cdsingle on Sony (with the old Homens lineup) has found its way to shops in Portugal.

National Final Compilations 
With Finland and Malta not having a compilation out this year, the number of national final CDs has decreased again.
Luckily Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Slovenia and Iceland didn't let us down.
And of course Lena's latest CD Good News includes all the tracks (12) of the German selection.

The official 2CD with all entries is out now.
Several entries have alternate versions from the ones that have been already available: Norway, Russia, Italy, Albania and Germany. Israel features in the old version.
